Comes as pictured. This unit is being sold AS-IS for parts or professional refurbishment due to a lighting circuit failure, but core mechanical functions have been successfully tested.
The unit has some minor cosmetic wear, such as scattered scratch and scuff marks. All glass (lenses, objectives, eyepieces) appears to be in good condition with no such wear or damage.
What Works: Unit powers on and the main control panel indicator LEDs light up correctly. The motorized X-Y movement and arm adjustments operate smoothly. Focus and zoom motors are responsive. The included footswitch is fully functional and correctly drives the mechanical adjustments.
Known Issues: The dedicated illumination circuit appears to be non-functional. The front panel circuit breakers for the microscope/external lamps tripped during testing and the internal mechanical latches will not reset/stay pushed in. Consequently, the internal lighting transformer does not engage, and the main halogen bulbs will not light up. Missing the external fiber optic guide cable (if applicable). Note: The base casing is originally stamped as a MEL 27, but was factory/Biomed upgraded to a MEL 48 (as noted by the corrected data plate and updated control panel).
